Thank you for considering our Egg Donor Program. Our program allows so many to experience the joys of childbearing and parenthood. These couples never would have had this opportunity were it not for the compassion, altruism, and commitment of people like you.
We’re looking forward to meeting you and we’re so glad you’re considering being an egg donor.
The first step in the egg donation process is to complete a medical history and genetic questionnaire. Our donor egg department will review your history and questionnaire and you will be contacted if you qualify to be a potential egg donor.
Donor profiles are made available to couples who are seeking donor eggs. The questionnaire allows the recipient couple to select an egg donor who best matches their own physical characteristics and background.
There are no out of pocket expenses incurred by donors. Donors who compelte the cycle are compensated $3,000.
Outline of Program
Egg donation makes it possible for a woman to become pregnant and give birth using the eggs of another woman. Your participation in and commitment to this program are invaluable to a couple that can’t conceive using the female partner’s egg.
If you meet the basic requirments for an egg donor you'll have further screening including: Seminar and consultation with the nurse coordinator to explain the program. Psychological consultation. Medical consultation with a physician for a physical/pelvic examination and medical history.
Once you're accepted as a donor, we'll give you the medical instruction you need to begin this process. The treatment cycle will induce your ovaries to produce multiple eggs with the use of hormone injections. At one point in the cycle you will be taking three shots a day. Our medical staff will give you instructions on how to do this.
When your eggs are mature, they will be retrieved in our office. You’ll need daily clinic visits for about one week to submit blood samples to check hormone levels and follicle growth via vaginal ultrasound. Retrieval is performed vaginally and is an essentially painless procedure performed under IV sedation. The entire procedure takes about 30 minutes and requires 1-3 hours of postoperative recovery. You can’t drive for about 24 hours following the egg retrieval.
You will receive $500 after you are selected as a donor and on medications for one week. After your first post-op appointment you’ll receive the remainder of donor’s fee of $2,500.* Donors may repeat up to six total cycles if they produce quality eggs, tolerate the procedures well and require appropriate amounts of medications.
*Your reimbursement for your time in the egg donation process is regulated by Indiana law with a maximum amount of $3,000.
