Deidra T. Rausch, Ph.D., L.M.F.T.

Diedra Rausch, executive director of The Cabin, holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree from Purdue University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Indiana University. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Indiana. Diedra is a clinical member and approved supervisor of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. She is also a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.

Deidra has been providing therapy to individuals, couples and families for over 10 years. She has had the opportunity to work with individuals struggling with infertility since 1986, first as a registered nurse and then by providing counseling services. Through these experiences, she continues to see the importance of attending to the physical as well as the emotional aspects of infertility. The physicians of Midwest Fertility Specialists believe that talking through the psychological aspects of infertility helps increase your ability to make informed decisions, better tolerate the medical procedures and improve the total treatment experience.

The Cabin

Established in 1999, The Cabin is the home of the family life and counseling ministries of Zionsville Presbyterian Church. Its mission is to provide encouragement, healing, education, and counsel to individuals and families through exceptional Christ-focused ministries. It is the hope of The Cabin staff that all may experience His love within the context of healthy personal relationships.

Patients who are planning to utilize donor sperm, donor eggs, or donor embryos are required by Midwest Fertility Specialists to meet with one of The Cabin counselors. Others seeking to communicate better as partners, deal with family and friends, make treatment decisions or attend to the emotional aspects of infertility are strongly encouraged to contact The Cabin to schedule an appointment. All information obtained in sessions with The Cabin staff will be kept confidential.

In addition to Dr. Rausch, Sherrie L. Bloemendaal, M.S.W. and Joan Cannon, M. A. counsel patients struggling with infertility. They appreciate the many facets of infertility, recognizing that this experience affects each individual differently and creates a variety of stresses.

Sherrie Bloemendaal earned her Masters Degree in Social Work from Indiana University. In addition to her work with infertility, her specialties include: marital conflict and distress, family conflict and distress, and child and adolescent issues.

Joan Cannon earned her Master of Arts Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Christian Theological Seminary. She also holds a Masters Degree in Hospital Administration and is a Registered Nurse. Along with infertility, she has clinical experience in the areas of marital conflict and distress, family conflict and distress, midlife transition issues, singleness, self-esteem enhancement, struggles with spirituality, parenting, and child and adolescent issues.
