Thyroid Stimulating Hormone
The pituitary gland sends this hormone to tell the thyroid to send out its own hormones. The small and powerful butterfly shaped thyroid sits at the base of the throat and impacts several important body functions including heart rate, blood pressure, energy levels and fertility. Small changes in your TSH may not be noticeable to you, but can have a big impact on your health.  A thyroid that’s not working correctly can usually be corrected with medicine, and more rarely with surgery.
